Bring Holiday Joy to Teens in DCYF Foster Care, Group Homes and Shelters

The Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) in conjunction with the Rhode Island Foster Parents Association (RIFPA) and the Rhode Island Council of Resource Providers (RICORP), is seeking help from individuals and groups for the annual Holiday Gifts Campaign.

You can bring holiday joy to teens in foster care, group homes and shelters by:

  • contributing to our monetary campaign to ensure that all teens in care receive a gift certificate
  • or signing up your group to be matched with a group home and providing unique holiday gifts to teens in care.

Congressman Kennedy Honors Rhode Islander for her Committment to Children

Washington, DC — Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy has selected Rhode Islander Lisa Guillette of North Providence to receive a 2005 Angels in Adoption Award for her outstanding work on behalf of children in Rhode Island. United States Representatives and Senators selected more than 180 Congressional Angels in Adoption for their outstanding contributions toward the welfare of children in the United States foster care system and orphans around the globe. The Angels will be recognized this evening at a national ceremony hosted by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) in Washington, D.C.
